CRUCIAL CASTING #2 – Nordic Edition

How can we create greater transparency in casting processes in the Nordic region? How can we strengthen the position of actors - and how can we open up the industry so that more voices, bodies, and stories find their way onto our screens?

Following last year's (possibly popular/sold out, enriching) CRUCIAL Casting #1, we now invite you to CRUCIAL Casting #2 - Nordic Edition, where we zoom in on Nordic casting cultures and explore how we can work together to create more diversity, more opportunities, and a more open and accessible process for all parties.

Look forward to an inspiring afternoon in the company of prominent Nordic casting directors, directors, producers, and actors and, not least, you, the performing artists. Together, we will open the doors to the engine room: What happens behind the scenes of a casting? Who gets to be who? And how can we, as an industry, develop new, more inclusive practices?

The seminar provides insight into:

• Differences and similarities in casting processes in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden
• How biases arise - and how we actively work to break them down
• How actors can navigate the process more confidently and strategically
• How the industry can create more diversity in casting and storytelling
• Concrete experiences, cases, and tools from Nordic professionals

Program:

CRUCIAL Casting #2 - Nordic Edition will take place at the National Film School of Denmark in Copenhagen on April 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will conclude with industry bubbles and an opportunity for informal conversation and networking.

We look forward to continuing the conversation - and to creating new paths together.
